The program includes a series of cultural activities in the coming weeks. These feature jazz performances, architectural tours of the building, Creole swing presentations, and tastings. Costa Rican residents receive a two-for-one admission benefit during the extended hours. They pay for one ticket and bring another person at no extra cost.
International visitors pay standard admission rates and gain the same extra time to move through the spaces. The Pre-Columbian Gold Museum displays gold artifacts from ancient indigenous cultures of the region. The Numismatics Museum covers the history of money and currency in Costa Rica. Temporary exhibits on archaeology and visual arts complete the offerings.
The underground location in the center of San José makes the museums easy to reach after a day of walking the city streets or visiting nearby sites. The later hours suit travelers who finish daytime activities and seek a calm, informative close to the evening. Tickets are available at the on-site box office or online. Some activities require advance registration via the museum’s official channels.
